The Jazzy Select Traveller Wheelchair

I tried out the Jazzy Select Traveler wheelchair a couple of weeks ago and I really liked this model. For maneuverability and efficiency in this tightly designed and compact motorized wheelchair, it gives a good ride.

The Jazzy Select Traveler chair is produced by the Pride Mobility Products Corporation. It comes with a powerful PG CG programmable controller, enhanced battery size for greater distances and in-line motors. As far as the battery goes for distance and speed, factors will determine its performance, like all other batteries with all other motorized wheelchairs, the tire pressure, the roughness or smoothness of the terrain, the weight of the person and the battery condition all affect its performance. Of course, you have to take care of your battery and recharge it correctly, or it is not going to perform well. For the specifics on this wheelchair battery, it comes with two U-1, off board, 5 amp, 12 volt, deep cycle batteries which result in greater per charge range – Each battery charge can reach a total of up to 15 miles per charge. The batteries weigh 24.5 pounds each. The maximum speed you can travel is is up to 3.5 miles per hour.

This wheelchair is available in blue or red, if you are picky about the colors. It can carry a person weighing up to 300 pounds. The seat measures 18 inches wide by 16 inches in length. The Jazzy Select Traveler is 27.75” in total length and 21.5” in width. Ground clearance is 1.75”. The turning radius is 22.75”. It comes with an intelligent, electronic braking system consisting of regenerative disc brakes.

What type of wheels does this motorized wheelchair come with? The front casters are 5” solid and the rear anti-tips are 3 inches solid.

The warranty on the Jazzy Select is a 5 year limited warranty on the frame; a one year limited warranty on the electronics and 1 one year limited warranty on the drive motors. For compatible lifts, check out the Pride Mobility Silver Star lifts and ramps – the Backpacker Plus and the SilverBoom 300.

You can expect great performance from the Jazzy Select Traveller motorized wheelchair just because of the programmable controller and the enhanced battery size. If you are looking for high performance and maneuverability, this one is a great power chair to check out.
